My landcare group is also at wit's end that rabbit control on public land is not seen by any government department as "their" problem. In our area many farms abut state forests which are under the 'control' of DSE or Parks Vic. When approached the response is normally "that is not our problem". We have to pay fees and licences to graze and maintain certain public lands. Where is government's reponsibility? Very large numbers of rabbits are decimating riparian zones and farmland. It is extremely frustrating to clear rabbits from one's own patch only to be thwarted by a continuous furry invasion owned by the goverment. Now the rabbits have been mapped let's see some action. "What ever the outcomes of climate change, generally speaking they will favour invasive species with broad ecological and habitat tolerance. This will exacerbate the impact rabbits have on the natural environment"
