This program was developed by experienced teachers. The lessons and activities have been extensively trialled to ensure they are easy to use and interesting for students. Each activity or lesson is a stand alone learning package or you could work through several activities at a time with little preparation. The workbooks are designed to be down loaded and each student can complete the activities individually.

How to use the Program

  1. The program is designed to be used with the interactive whiteboard or personal computers
  2. Present the Feral Animals in Australia file as a single lesson or pre activity to the Rabbitscan Excursion. Or print off copies of the Rabbit Study and undertake a deeper study
  3. Prepare for and undertake your excursion using the RabbitScan Excursion Resources
  4. Come back to the website with your data and load your results

RabbitScan Excursion

  1. There are two sets of activities provided that you could use as additional activities while on the rabbit scan
  2. Stage 4 RabbitScan excursion activities are suitable for junior secondary and year 5/6 classes. Print off the activities you wish to undertake
  3. Stage 2/3 RabbitScan activities are suitable for years 3-6. Year 7 classes also enjoy these activities. These are written as teacher instructions so run off a copy for each teacher

Great Theme

"What ever the outcomes of climate change, generally speaking they will favour invasive species with broad ecological and habitat tolerance. This will exacerbate the impact rabbits have on the natural environment"
